My customers are all local small businesses in the Stockport - Macclesfield and surrounding areas. Here are a selection to give you an idea of the sort of things that can be provided within the website.

Nautech Services

Nautech needed a makeover of their existing website so that it looked more professional, better reflected their business and was better positioned on the search engines..

This is a global company which offers personnel and recruitment for oil and gas companies all over the world. They also have a main competitor so it was very important that they appeared in the search engines under keywords relevant to their business.

The company had many different aspects that it needed to include on the website and also wanted to include a lot of pictures. The Internet is very visual and the photographs were very effective.

In order to keep the site easy to understand and simple to navigate, I suggested we divide the page so that we had a column of photos on one side and a column of information appropriate to the page on the other. That way, we could add snippets or additional info in the column to compliment the main aspect of the page and the visitor could understand where to find what he/she wanted.

The result was an effective and memorable website.

The Kitchen Centre

Lynne and Mike wanted me to set up a website which would enable them to sell kitchen sinks on a national basis. They did not want a 'shopping cart' but wanted customers to contact them by telephone or email before making a purchase.

I managed to get them a series of domain names appropriate to their keywords. I gave each make of sink a separate address which would increase the chances of a better page ranking on the search engines. This was essential to sell on a national basis.

Page Rank has been a major issue and links from the Local Web Ring websites directly to all nine of their websites has improved their Page Rank on Google.

With there being so many different makes, types and styles of kitchen sinks it was a challenge to come up with a website design that was easy to navigate and understand.

Living Pictures

Living Picture Aquariums are very visual products which, because they are designed to fix onto the wall are difficult to 'get across' on a website. It was important to display the product visually and include all the possible colour, size and theme variations. The product also needed to be sold nationally.

I decided the best way to do this was to include separate 'gateway' pages within the website which could be targeted at specific niche markets. This enabled the business to expand it's number of 'themes' and target new markets. Each page could then be separately optimised for it's niche market key word and individually submitted to the search engines.

The website also includes a 'secret' trade page not accessible through the navigation bar. Trade customers are emailed the link to this page so that retail customer cannot see the trade information.

Customers order from the website, but payments are made over the telephone only when orders are confirmed.

Mobberley Golf Club

The owners wanted me to design a website for them that would show all the information about the golf club. This would include events, course details, competitions, membership details, tuition etc. Members and potential members would have a central information point for the golf club that they could access from their own homes and at a time that suits them. They could also be referred to it at any time.

The website also includes a form for visitors to subscribe to a e-newsletter that will provide them with up to date news and special offers.

Driveway Designs

Faye and Tim needed an online brochure for their patterned concrete driveways business which would include pictures of the different patterns, colours and examples of their work. She wanted to be able to discuss these with customers over the internet whilst talking to them on the telephone. This would be so much cheaper and much more flexible than a printed brochure.

It is impossible to get across details of all the patterns, colours and types of work etc. in a simple advertisement without taking out a double page spread. By simply placing a small advertisement in a magazine or newspaper which displays the website address they are able to direct interested parties to their online brochure. This shows everything in detail and enables customers to contact them directly via a webform or email at a time that suits them.

The website has been very successful for the business and they have since become a member of the Federation of Master Builders details of which were added to the site. This together with an additional 'Testimonials' page has provided potential customers with complete confidence in their workmanship.

Coppice Crystal

Richard and Sue wanted a presence on the Internet without it becoming too expensive. I designed them a simple but effective single page website to advertise their glass engraving business to the public with an email address for contact.

They are able to refer customers to it and advertise the website address on their letter headings, business cards etc. The website is also listed on the Local Web Ring websites which improves their Page Rank search engine positioning and also provides a link to their website for interested local customers.

Headset Solutions

My brief with Headset Solutions was to build an easy to use 11 page website for their national headsets business. The design had to be memorable, easy to use and needed to list all their products and services.

I built in a 'Frequently Asked Questions' section which is a good way to make the customer understand that you want to be helpful and responsive to their requirements. It gives them the confidence in your business to then contact you directly.

The company regularly asks me to design an individual html page that promotes their current offers and new products - they then email this to their customer email list.

Deeba

Deeba Indian Restaurant's website has evolved over several years. Mr Shah originally wanted a presence on the internet and a website that would include both his restaurant and take away menu. Customers could then browse the menu from home before ordering.

Since then the Deeba Reastaurant has won many awards for Good Food and Healthy eating and details of these needed to be added to the website.  I have also since included a picture gallery so that customers can see the quality of his establishment and 'The Story of Deeba' for interest.

Mr Shah also has a privilege membership scheme that he wanted to advertise on the internet.
